The Top Three Reasons to Take Out a Payday Loan

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carrie_Reeder]Carrie Reeder Everyone faces times in their life when money is tight and financial emergencies arise. In those moments, taking out a payday loan can be a wonderful solution to your financial burdens, but these loans arent for everyone. Payday loans do come with high interest rates and if you cant pay them off on time, you face the risk of accruing high loan fees. Despite the cost and the risks, there are times when it is worth it to take out a payday cash advance. Take out a payday loan when the late charges on your credit card are higher than the loan fees. If money is so tight that you are going to have to be late on your credit card payments, consider taking out a payday loan. Some credit card companies charge outrageous late fees, so if they add up to more than the cost of the loan, it makes sense to take out the cash advance. Take out a payday loan when a late credit card payment will hurt your credit. Your credit score determines the interest rate you will qualify for when you try to take out a home mortgage. Every time you make a late payment, it can change your credit score. It is worth it to pay a the loan fees on a payday loan in order to save your credit rating and qualify for lower interest rates on a larger loan down the road. Think of it as spending a little now to ensure that you spend less in the future. Weight Loss Today | Get up and Start Moving

By Josh Ebert It is time to get off the couch and start moving. We have become way too complacent with our lifestyle today. There is nothing motivating us anymore to get off our butts. Did you know American has become the worlds Fattest Nation, this fact is terrible and must be changed. According to the Center of Disease Control, 300,000 people die annually from obesity related health problems. Approximately 57% of adults in American, that is a ratio of 1 in 6 are obese. Fast food has become our way of life. Forget about coming home after a long day and cooking a healthy meal. We are too exhausted from work all day. We have to have the newer car and the bigger house. There is no time to take care of our selves. We are working day in day out to live out our material lifestyle. This lifestyle is killing us as a nation. We have forgotten how to eat healthy, exercise, and take personal time to refocus our energy. These are all attributes of the past. Diet pills are on the move. Why do we think that taking a pill can solve everything? This is nuts; putting man made chemicals in our body does nothing but cause harm, if not right away then eventually down the road. There is no easy way out. We just have to make the choice to get up, move and start putting healthier food into our bodies. God provides us with all natural foods, grown from the earth. Since when are we better than God? The food industries are stripping out natural nutrients and putting in additives for preservation, taste and color. What is the solution? They try and put some vitamins back by adding them unnaturally to our foods. Thanks! We have got to start changing our daily routine. First off, we have to start eating better. Start preparing healthy meals everyday, breakfast, lunch and dinner. You should also eat a healthy snack between breakfast and lunch, another between lunch and dinner. This will jump start your metabolism and keep it up and running. You will also avoid the stomach growls of hunger during the day. This will keep your sugar cravings to a minimum. Secondly, start drinking more water. Water is extremely essential for everyday life. It provides energy, decreases hunger, and increases mental clarity. You need about half your body weight in ounces of water per day. For example, a 150-pound person would need about 75 ounces per day. That is about 5-6 large glasses of water per day. Last, start moving your body. You need aerobic exercise minimum 30 min per day 4-5 days per week. Again, this is a minimum recommendation. A fast paced walk or slow jog will start you off in the right direction, slowly advance the intensity, frequency and duration as you get in better shape. Why Yo-Yo Dieting Is Dangerous

By Glenn Freiboth Diets will not allow you to achieve your fitness goal. Your fitness goal can only be achieved by a major lifestyle change that includes nutritionally balanced meals and regular exercise. However, when most people think of being on a diet, they immediately think of eating less, or doing without with their favorite foods. Eating less simply to lose weight is a flawed dieting technique, that usually accomplishes a short term weight loss, followed by long term weight gain. A diet’s success or failure is really governed by the same laws of physics that rule all energy transformations. A calorie is a unit of energy, and the law of conservation of energy states that energy sources can neither be created nor destroyed, the calories you eat must either be expended or conserved. So if you eat too many calories the excess is stored in the body as fat. If you eat too few calories to support your daily needs, you’ll have to reach into where your excesses are stored in order to maintain an energy balance. Your body must maintain an equal energy balance (Homeostasis) or gains or losses will take place. If calories are restricted, your body will do whatever it needs to do in order to achieve a balance in energy and fat reserves. When calories are restricted, your body will begin to break down other nutrients to compensate for the lack of energy. Your body however, doesn’t selectively break down just one nutrient, it breaks down them all, stored fats, protein and carbohydrates. If you are trying to lose fat, it’s good that your body is breaking down the fat stores, but it is also breaking down protein, which is stored in your muscles and carbohydrates are broken down from muscle glycogen stores. Your body breaks down all three to get the energy supply that it needs. Your body can’t keep breaking down muscle forever so what it does is reduce your Basal Metabolic rate to conserve energy. Your body will now need less energy to achieve the energy balance it needs. Now the restricted amounts of calories that were once helping you lose weight are no longer doing the trick. One of the more popular and most dangerous methods for weight loss is to reduce or eliminate the amount of carbohydrates you consume. When Carbohydrates are reduced or eliminated you will lose weight, basically because one gram of carbohydrates needs 2.7 grams of water for storage. When you restrict the amount of carbohydrates you eat, you’ll not only use up your carbohydrate stores to meet energy demands, you’ll also lose large amounts of water during this process, not to mention the lean tissue mass that will be lost. You should also know that you cannot store fat unless insulin is released by your body and the only way your body can produce insulin is when you eat carbohydrates. About 24 hours after you stop eating carbohydrates, your body begins to break down fat at a very rapid rate in order to receive a substitute for the carbohydrates it is not getting. This is extremely dangerous and could result in death if allowed to progress too far. During this process of turning fat to energy, Ketones are created and you are known to be in a state of Ketosis. In a mild state of Ketosis, your body is depleting fat stores faster than any other type of diet. You can even eat large amounts of Fat and Protein while on this diet and still lose weight. Low Carbohydrate diets which include 50 grams or 200 calories of carbohydrates can cause weakness, apathy, fatigue, vomiting and dehydration. You should not even consider this diet without consulting your family doctor. If you lose muscle mass, your metabolic rate slows and you burn fewer calories. If you gain muscle mass your metabolic rate increases and you burn more calories. In fact one pound of Fat burns just two calories a day to maintain itself, whereby one pound of lean body mass burns 30 to 50 calories a day to maintain itself. Exercise, especially weight training, will stimulate and maintain lean muscle mass if you are eating a balanced diet. If you are exercising and not eating properly, your body has no choice but to reach into your muscles and get the nutrients it needs. This will cause you to lose what you are trying so hard to build, muscle mass. A Typical Dieter Case Study: Let say our person starts out weighing 150 pounds with a 25 percent body Fat level. (37.5 lbs. of Fat and 112.50 lbs. of lean body mass) For one reason or another our person overeats and gains 20 lbs. of fat. This persons body fat composition changes so that they now weigh 170 lbs. with a 33.8 percent body fat level. (57.50 lbs. of fat and 112.50 lbs. of lean body mass) In a panic to lose the weight quickly, our typical diet occurs, with our dieter eating less than 1,000 kcal. a day and skipping meals. When crash dieting to lose the 20 lbs., remember your body composition will change because the 20 lbs. you will lose will not be the same 20 lbs. you gained. Your weight loss will be part fat and part muscle. Your back to weighing 150 lbs. but your body fat level is no longer 25 percent it’s 30.3 percent. (45.5 lbs. of fat and 104.5 lbs. of lean body mass) Our typical dieter eventually falls back into old eating habits and before you know it, they’ve gained back the 20 lbs. they lost. Once again the weight gain is Fat, and they’re back weighing 170 lbs. with a body fat percentage of 38.5 percent. (65.5 lbs. of fat and 104.5 lbs. of lean body mass) Once again our person diets, losing the 20 lbs. and returns to their weight of 150 lbs.(53.50 lbs. of fat and 96.5 lbs. of lean body mass) The person is back to their original weight, but throughout the years, their body fat composition has changed from 25 percent to 36.6 percent! This person is getting fatter with each dieting episode. Part of the reason for this is the persons metabolic rate has slowed down because they have lost muscle mass. Yet they continue to eat like they always did. Without changing your eating habits and the number of calories you consume, you are doomed to gain your weight back. Even when you look in the mirror, you may be your original weight, but your body composition has changed so much through years of dieting that you don’t like your reflection. The feeling now is, that you must continue to diet to achieve a better image. As long as typical dieter seek immediate gratification and tries to shed weight as quickly as possible, there is virtually no chance they will ever achieve their fitness goal. Another pitfall is your bathroom scale. It shows gains that aren’t really there and can’t tell the difference between fat, water and muscle. Your weight also fluctuates by several pounds throughout the day and weighing yourself too much is not only confusing but discouraging as well. You can’t help but be affected by the numbers. If you must weigh yourself do it only once a week and at the same time of day, in order to get consistent results. Don’t let the bathroom scale rule your mood or determine the degree of your success and the key to your success is a strong foundation. Adopting a healthy lifestyle doesn’t happen overnight. If you want it to last, you need to adopt healthy habits and perform them one step at a time. Dispute Resolution that Works

By Richard A. Hall Disputes are often the result of a failure to communicate, or opposing views on what was communicated. This is true in most human relationships, personal and business. In personal relationships, most disputes are resolved without legal intervention, but business disputes very often result in some type of litigation and that can be a very costly endeavor. Business involves risk, but the degree to which you manage those risks can have a profound impact on the bottom line. However, if risk is not identified it cannot be avoided, eliminated, mitigated or managed. Ideally, we all want to avoid disputes. While you can employ best practices to avoid many disputes, you cannot eliminate the risk. It is wise to have an inexpensive, expeditious and defensible mechanism in place to resolve disputes. All disputes do not have to result in litigation. Business disputes can often resemble family disputes. There is a differing understanding of terms, failure or perceived failure to meet expectations or an inability to negotiate as the dispute gets heated and becomes emotional. Common business disputes are between employer and employees (individual or union), business partners, customers or suppliers. To avoid or reduce the risk of dispute in all of these areas, companies must identify what could lead to a dispute, and develop an action plan that avoids or reduces the risk. In many cases, having written policies and procedures and ensuring that they are communicated will reduce the risk of a dispute. In example, an employment agreement can clearly delineate the employee and employers responsibility and as well as a mechanism for resolution in the event of a dispute. Business partnerships are a common source of potential conflict. By identifying the potential for dispute you can take steps to control the damage in advance. Many small to mid sized businesses are controlled by five or fewer people. This provides for an efficient management system but also has the potential for dispute. What happens in the event that an owner has an extended illness, divorces or passes away? What if two or more of the owners cannot see eye to eye on how the business is run? What if one of the owners wants to retire, cut back on hours or sell his/her shares to a third party? What if the partnership dissolves and one or more of the owners opens a similar business? All of these events pose a risk and can potentially disrupt the operation of your business. All too often businesses fail over these types of disputes. The best way to avoid these disputes is by hiring legal expertise in advance of the partnership. An attorney can address all of the potential risks in a partnership agreement or buy-sell agreement. This agreement will address potential disputes, ownership sales and other risk events. By hiring an attorney to help you structure the partnership you can avoid the potential of messy litigation in the future. Many commercial contracts have begun to insert an alternative dispute resolution clause. Alternative Dispute Resolution or ADR has become a more common practice as a way of avoiding litigation in the event of a dispute. ADR includes arbitration and mediation. Mediation is often the first step in the dispute resolution process. The mediators role is to be a neutral party that assists in reconciling difference before proceeding to arbitration or litigation. An arbitrator also acts as a neutral third party but hears evidence and decides the case. The value of arbitration is that parties avoid hiring attorneys and proceeding to court. Arbitrators do not represent either side but are neutral. Arbitration can be binding or non-binding. Keeping in mind that most conflict is a result of communication failures, ADR can give the parties a broader perspective. In some respects, ADR is akin to marriage counseling for business. In example, there was a case of two businessmen who had a conflict and instigated lawsuits against one another. They were referred for mediation. At the conclusion of mediation not only had they resolved their original conflict but had also signed future contracts worth tens of millions of dollars. This obviously is a highly successful outcome but of course one we cannot expect for every case. By the time most cases reach mediation or arbitration there is so much rancor between the parties that no outcome will be fully satisfactory. Often both parties sustain losses that cannot be recovered. Labor disputes present a good example. When athletic teams go on strike as management enters into mediation, each side is losing money that will likely not be recovered. Owners lose money from ticket sales, players lose endorsement dollars and businesses that are tied to the sport (such as food vendors, hotels near stadiums) lose money. While the disputes do get resolved, all around there is a loss. ADR does not eliminate the loss but is preferable to a potentially long and costly court battle that could take years to settle. Collaborative lawyering is an innovative and relatively new method of dispute resolution where the parties and their lawyers agree to resolve the issues without litigation. Lawyers agree to represent the parties for settlement purposes only. This method differs from mediation in that there is not a neutral third party. However, it draws on the concepts of mediation in that the parties are managing the dispute themselves rather than a judge or arbitrator. The role of the collaborative lawyer has been described as advocacy without litigation. In all disputes, there is the option to avoid, eliminate, or reduce the potential for conflict. Good business practices and communication can go a long way in accomplishing these objectives. However, it is wise to have a plan of action to swiftly resolve disputes when they occur and to do so with minimal cost. Asset Protection Lawyer

By Peter Emerson The process of asset protection involves planning and strategies to preserve individual wealth or business assets by minimizing the risk of various lawsuits. The best way to do this is to hire an expert asset protection lawyer who provides different strategies based upon your needs, types and location of assets. These professional lawyers are committed to protect their clients from a financial crisis. They aim to maximize the value of the assets and prevent the access of unauthorized and undesirable persons. Honest and dedicated lawyers are creative in providing solutions to your particular estate planning and asset protection problems. Only experienced asset protection lawyers will understand the sharp dividing line between legal and illegal ways of protecting your assets. An offshore asset protection plan is more vulnerable, so a lawyer is a must. Your hard earned assets can be at risk if you go without the right strategies and the safeguards. An experienced lawyer creates enough hurdles against potential litigants without going for an offshore plan. They can accomplish their task with onshore vehicles such as family limited partnerships, life insurance, retirement plans and the appropriate use of trusts. Good asset protection lawyers are rightly cautious about the ethics and practice within the asset protection spectrum. There are many law firms that provide free asset protection information written by eminent lawyers. Some of them also offer free consultation with the lawyers. Planning depends upon a reliable lawyer, and it is difficult to figure out what works and what does not in asset protection planning. In this case, an experienced attorney helps a lot. They prescribe a plan that works based upon their research. There are lawyers who think outside the box and come up with really new and innovative strategies. Asset Protection provides detailed information on Asset Protection, Asset Protection Trusts, Offshore Asset Protection, Asset Protection Strategies and more. Asset Protection is affiliated with Asset Management System. Choosing a Ceremony Site

By Carolyn Burke To ensure that you will have the ceremony that you have always dreamed of, you will want to plan carefully. You will want to decide exactly what type of ceremony you want. You may want the ceremony to be laced with tradition; to be filled with the personal touches that show meaning and uniqueness. Your selection of a ceremony site will be influenced by the formality of your wedding, the season of the year, the number of guests expected and your religious affiliation. The ceremony location is the place where you make those lifelong promises and commitments. The memories forever etched of that one spot, wearing the most beautiful dress, with your friends and family fondly observing. Begin your search for a ceremony site as soon as you have selected the date for your wedding. The following are just a few options on the types of ceremony locations: Church, cathedral, chapel, temple, synagogue, a private home, garden, courthouse, hotel, country club, hall, park, museum, yacht, winery, a field, the beach, casino, hot air balloon, art gallery, bed and breakfast, college/university chapel, ANYWHERE! The ceremony site usually charges a fee to rent the facility. In a place of worship, this fee may include the use of the sanctuary, wedding coordinator, organist, custodian, changing room for the bridal party, and miscellaneous items such as kneeling cushions, aisle runner, unity candle, sound system and candelabra. There may be restrictions on placement of floral arrangements, secular or sacred music selections as well as time of ceremony. Make sure you ask about restrictions or guidelines regarding photography, videography, decorations, candles, rice, bird-seed or rose petal-tossing. Be sure to ask for specific rules and regulations and what the site fee includes prior to booking a facility. While having a ceremony outdoors is a wonderful way for you to showcase your event, there are some special considerations that are important to plan for. First, make sure your officiant is willing to perform the ceremony at your chosen location–some members of the clergy will only perform wedding ceremonies within a house of worship. Be sure to find out whether there are any user restrictions, permits, or conflicting activities and events with your chosen date and time. Other logistics to consider include whether or not there is ample accessibility, electricity, parking, as well as restrooms on site. Remember to select a quiet spot that is away from the traffic. Nearly everything must be brought in such as chairs for your guests and a sound system. You are encouraged to have an alternate ceremony site in case of inclement weather. In a museum or gallery, your wedding will be surrounded by beautiful objects. You can choose sites that display works that match your personal preferences, whether you enjoy the modern, classical, naturalistic or abstract. A wedding at home gives you the opportunity to recite your vows in a place that is near and dear to your heart. Though it will require that you have enough room to accommodate your guest list, a home wedding will definitely have a personal touch that no other location offers. When renting a ceremony location, make sure the contract specifies all aspects of renting or using the location: arrival times, departure times, equipment that can be used, clean-up responsibilities, parking facility use, etc. Remember the marriage license! Dont forget to bring the marriage-license packet to the wedding! Assign this task to a trusted friend or family member. A ceremony is not legal and complete without this. Carolyn Burke has been providing ceremony resources in the Saint Louis area for several years. Her attention to location, officiant, music and wedding day coordination provide couples with the necessary tools to make a ceremony unique and meaningful. A wedding is a blend of traditions and personal touches. Burke believe each wedding ceremony is a creation unto its own and the only limit is your imagination. Some Of The Best Reasons You Should Be Following A Seafood Diet

By Gregg Hall Eating seafood is part of a healthy diet. Since we are living in a health and weight conscious society find foods that are high in beneficial proteins and low on saturated fats are quite important. The health benefits of seafood can be the lowering of cholesterol, lowering the risk of heart disease, lowering the risk of stroke, and building muscle. It is easily apparent to see the effects of a high seafood diet when visiting a coastal community. In general these people live longer healthier lives. Fish and seafood with higher protein can prevent weight gain naturally, and it is easier to digest. It is a natural and easily obtainable food source in some areas making is a good alternative for red meat or poultry. Omega 3 The essential oil in seafood is Omega 3; this can be found in fatty fish like tuna, salmon, and sardines. These have high levels of two kinds of Omega 3 fatty acids are eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). It is recommended by physicians to have at least two portions in a week. They keep the heart healthy and help to prevent future cardiovascular disease and lower blood pressure. There is also evidence that fish can help prevent and possible alleviate some mood disorders, making it not only heart healthy but brain food too. White fleshed fish, in particular, is lower in fat than any other source of animal protein, and oilier fish contain substantial quantities of omega 3s or the “good” fats in a diet plan. Fish does not contain the “bad” fats, omega 6 fatty acids, which are commonly found in red meat. The high content of poly unsaturated fatty acids in seafood lowers serum cholesterol levels. Omega 3 fatty acids change the critical balance of certain blood components called lipoproteins, reducing low density lipoproteins and very low density lipoproteins that deposit cholesterol along the artery walls. Fish is low in saturated fat and provides the body with essential vitamins and minerals, such as, vitamins A, B, and D; zinc, iron, and selenium. Dietary Advantages Seafood can go a long way toward helping consumers achieve dietary goals. Most shellfish are low in fat, with a total composition of less the 5% fat; many varieties have less than 1% fat. Thus, with such a small amount of total fat, most seafood provides only 190 calories for a 3 ounce serving, cooked. But for a healthier choice, go for the poached, baked, or grilled fish, rather than fried. Fried fish is much higher in fat, especially if it is cook in a batter. This does not mean you can’t enjoy the occasional fish and chips; it is just healthier not to counteract the good oils with the bad. Gregg Hall is an author living in Navarre Florida. Never Return Phone Calls Right Away

By Kevin Stirtz I once had a boss who told us to never return phone calls right away. He said if you return a call too quickly, the other person might think you’re not very busy. This same boss also liked to say “always make it hard for the other person to schedule an appointment with you”. His logic, in both cases was that if you appeared super busy then the other person (a prospect) would want to do business with you because you’re a winner. And (he reasoned), it gave you the upper hand in any negotiations. Your apparent success told the prospect you didn’t need their business. Great advice! Unless you actually want to grow your business. Then it’s lousy advice. Who wants to do business with someone who purposely delays responding to you and who intentionally is difficult to work with? Not me. My old boss got it wrong in a big way. He spent too much time thinking about himself and how he appeared to other people. He thought by creating a certain image, he could manipulate people into wanting to do business with him. But that’s contrary to how good business works. The only sure way to getting and keeping customer for the long term is to focus on them, not on yourself. Note, this does not mean you completely disregard what you want and need for a business relationship. Not at all! You’re in business to help your customers and you can’t do that if you run yourself out of business. When you focus on your customers, you honestly try to see things from their perspective. Your purpose is to help them get what they want. You try to deliver them the best experience you can in the context of what they want and what you’re able to do for them. The deal is by helping them get what they want, you automatically get what you want (the price or fee they pay you, for example). People and companies who do this continue to attract customers and keep them coming back. They offer service that Seth Godin calls “remarkable.” “Remarkable Service” is service that is so good, your customers tell others about it. It’s not hard to be remarkable, especially in how we communicate with people. These days most people do a lousy job returning calls and emails. Several weeks ago, I called a local company to sign up for their service. I waited 24 hours and called again because no one had bothered to call back. Then, after I gave them my credit card information, I never heard from them again, until I contacted them. They did nothing to reach out to me before or after I placed my order. What’s sad is their responsiveness is not surprising. It’s closer to the norm than I like. So, if you want to be remarkable in the eyes of your customers, do these things and you’ll knock their socks off: 1. Return their calls and emails right away. 2. Be easy to work with. Be flexible and accommodate their situation. 3. Focus on how you can help them get what they want. 4. Ask them how you can best serve them and listen to what they tell you. Build your business around these actions and you’ll build relationships with customers that will survive just about anything. More customers! More revenue! More profits! That’s what Kevin Stirtz helps companies create. Kevin is a business growth expert who helps people improve their companies. He has developed a unique program called “Build a Better Business” that does just that. It helps you build a better business, on your terms and according to your goals. Natural Weight Loss Ideas

By Steve Polk It’s no wonder, that with all the modern conveniences that society has to offer we have become a nation of overweight people. The rate of overweight Americans has climbed steadily as technology has made life easier. With that in mind, here are a few natural weight loss ideas. With just a few simple changes in our daily routine, you can lose a few extra pounds. 1) Buy a bicycle, and use it for short trips to visit friends or to pick up a few items at the store. 2) Don’t try to find the nearest parking spot to whatever store or event you are visiting. Isn’t it funny, how people going to a health club spend lots of time trying to find a parking space close to the entrance! You’ll burn a few extra calories and save some time by parking further away. 3) If your kids play a sport take a brisk walk around the park or field during their warm ups. This will help keep you warm while you are waiting. Take another players parents with you.. It’s a great way to get to know someone new. 4) Speed clean. Raking leaves? Sweeping the floor? Time yourself and see if you can beat your time the next time you do the same cleaning project. This works great on your weekly or daily cleaning rituals. I would not suggest this when cleaning the toilet! 5) Try speed walking when your taking your dog for a walk. It’s great exercise and your dog will enjoy the faster pace. 6) Every time a commercial comes on while your watching T.V. get up and just move around. Maybe a few sit ups, push ups, or see how many times you can walk to the other side or your house or apartment. 7) Make up your own list of natural weight loss ideas based on the ordinary things you do every day. With a little thought you’ll be able to come up with some clever ways to help you burn a few extra calories. Toxic Chemicals Used in Personal Products Pt1

By Kevin McGoldrick WHY ARE WE DYING TO KNOW THE TRUTH? Please take the time to really read this report thoroughly as it contains vital information on health you will not find easily obtainable from other publications. If you weren’t aware of the carcinogens and POISONS in your everyday personal care items then these reports will shock you! Please READ ON! Learn critical health secrets the giant vested interests don’t want you to know! This new information may save your life…. but only if you put it into practice! To fully understand the significance of what is contained in these reports requires some basic knowledge. Let’s begin by reviewing the way cancer is treated in North America, the UK and most “developed” countries today. One of the most frightening things a person can hear from their doctor is, “you have cancer”. This is because we all know people who have been affected by this terrible disease. We may have friends or family members who have suffered and died from cancer. We may also know people who have contracted cancer and survived, but we also know the price some of them paid in chemotherapy induced illness and hair loss, in physical disfigurement from surgery, or in side effects from radiation treatments The purpose of these reports is not to scare you, nor is it to provide medical advice. Ultimately, only you can decide what is best for you whether you are trying to prevent cancer or if you already have cancer and are seeking treatment. To make good decisions, you must first have good information. Would you agree… Informed people make informed decisions? If you want to reduce your chance of getting cancer, you must know something of what may cause cancer. You must know how you can minimize your potential exposure and how you can support your body’s natural abilities to protect itself from cancer. In this report, we will attempt to provide some of that information. The first step will be to expose a few myths MYTH #1: We are winning the battle with cancer, and survival rates are much better today than in the past. False! Cancer has become AN EPIDEMIC… effecting massive numbers of people in all social and economic groups. It is now the 2nd leading cause of death in North America, Australia and the UK. Death from cancer is exceeded only by heart disease. The American Cancer Society says that 1 in 2 of all men and 1 in 3 of all women in our country today will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime. This is a massive increase over the 1 person in 80 who contracted cancer 100 years ago. Due to the huge numbers of people dying in the USA from all degenerative diseases, not just cancer, life expectancy is being revised downward for the first time ever by medical researchers. According to the NEJM report, studies suggest that two-thirds of American adults are overweight. One study cited by the authors indicates that the prevalence of obesity in U.S. adults has increased about 50 percent per decade since 1980. Additional research has shown that people who are severely obese live up to 20 years less than people who are not overweight and are much more prone to contracting cancer. Some researchers have estimated that obesity causes about 300,000 premature deaths in the U.S. annually. In addition, obesity is fuelling an epidemic of type 2 diabetes, which also reduces lifespan and is the cause of many debilitating diseases and blindness. Life expectancy in the USA is now at a high of 77.6 years. If the researchers’ predictions hold true in the next 50 years, it would be the first reversal in life expectancy since the government started keeping track in 1900. This year, about 1,200,000 new cancer cases will be diagnosed in the USA alone, with hundreds of thousands more in the UK and in Australia and other Western countries. When added to the millions who already have cancer, the anticipated loss of life easily exceeds 1,000,000 per year. (Over 1,500 people in the U.S. alone die every day from cancer.) In spite of massive investments in research, cancer rates are increasing markedly among all age groups, including children, whose rate of increase is nearly 1% per year according to the American Cancer Institute. In some parts of the world, cancer already affects 1 in every 2 people, and the trend continues to get worse. Eventually the rate could approach 100% Although small improvements have occurred in treating some cancers, the overall rate of recovery for cancer patients has changed very little over the past 50 years. The average cancer survival rate was about 50% in 1950, and it is still about 50% today. For African-Americans, the survival rate in 1950 was under 40%, and it also remains about the same today. MYTH #2: Chemotherapy is very effective in treating cancer and in saving the lives of cancer victims. False! Over the years, many dramatic claims have been made by pharmaceutical companies and other members of the cancer establishment regarding drug based treatments for cancer. Today, chemotherapy is the most common form of cancer treatment. If such successful results were actually being achieved, improvements could readily be observed in the survival rates. Yet, survival rates remain basically unchanged. Chemotherapy consists of a mixture of highly toxic drugs which are given the patient in a series of treatments over a period of time. Research shows that chemotherapy can often cause a partial or even complete shrinkage of a tumour, although this shrinkage does not necessarily prolong expected survival. In fact, studies have found that the cancer often returns even more aggressively than before, because the chemotherapy has created more resistant cells. In addition, a strongly negative side effect of chemo is that it can severely damage the body’s immune system as well as the kidneys and liver. Some patients will die from these complications alone. It is often a case of the cure being far more serious and deadly then the disease. A good indication of the effectiveness of chemotherapy can be found in polls surveying cancer doctors regarding what they would choose for themselves if they were diagnosed with cancer. Many US doctors have stated they would not choose chemotherapy for themselves due to its ineffectiveness and its unacceptable levels of toxicity. Sixty percent of doctors who responded to a similar poll in the UK indicated that they would not submit themselves to chemotherapy! Still, doctors continue to administer chemotherapy because they do not have approved medical alternatives. The fact is, there are large profits to be made by the drug companies in administering chemotherapy, whether it is actually effective or not. Well that is all in this first Toxic Chemical and Cancer Report. I hope you have enjoyed reading this, the first report in a ten report series. The reports will continue to give you factual hype free information about the myths concerning cancer and other health issues in future reports.
